Populism
Populism: critical analysis of movements opposing virtuous people vs corrupt elite.
From the republican and liberal-democratic perspective, populism — understood as rhetoric that opposes a univocally virtuous people to corrupt elites, delegitimizes institutional mediation, and concentrates authority in a leader — erodes constitutional brakes. Müller, Urbinati, Mounk, and other contemporary authors have mapped its consequences for liberal democracy. Revista Conciencia Democrática publishes analysis of contemporary populisms.
