Geopolitics analyzes power relations between states based on geographical, demographic, and resource variables. Classical references: Halford Mackinder, Karl Haushofer, Nicholas Spykman. Contemporary revival: Kissinger, Brzezinski, Mearsheimer, Kagan. The Russian invasion of Ukraine (2022), US-China competition, and subsequent European realignment have revived interest in geopolitical categories.
